2012
The Museum received the first award in “The Museum Event in Wielkopolska – IZABELLA 2009” in the Publications category for the International Symposium “Origin and Early Development of Food Producing Cultures in Northeastern Africa– 30 years later”.  The organisers of the current edition of the Izabella competition were  the Wielkopolska Branch of the “Polish Museums’ Union” Association and the Marshal Office of the Wielkopolska Region.

2010
The Museum received two awards in “The Museum Event in Wielkopolska – IZABELLA 2009” competition under the patronage of the Marshal Office of the Wielkopolska Region: first award in the Publications category for the catalogue of the permanent exhibition “It Was Here that Poland was born” and second award in the Exhibitions category for the exhibition “Humble souls – children and childhood over the centuries”.

2009
The  Museum was honoured with several awards for its achievements in education, exhibition work and research. In the annual competition for an outstanding book dedicated toPoznań, organised by Biblioteka Raczyńskich (the Raczyńscy Library), we were awarded the Józef Łukasiewicz Award for the publication “Archaeology of the City ofPoznań. Volume 1. The state of research and materials” by dr Jarmila Kaczmarek In the all-Poland competition “The Museum Event of the Year SYBILLA 2008”, organised by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, we were awarded an honourable mention in the Scientific Achievement category for “Archaeology of the City of Poznań. Volume 1. The state of research and materials” by dr Jarmila Kaczmarek.

2008
The Museum won three prizes in “The Museum Event in Wielkopolska – IZABELLA 2008”competition organised by the Marshal Office of the Wielkopolska Region: Grand Prix for “Weekend meetings 2008”, the second award for the exhibition “On the wings of the past” created by mgr Tomasz Skorupka, and the second award for the publication by dr Jarmila Kaczmarek “Archaeology of the City of Poznań. Volume 1. The state of research and materials”.
